Reduce Pressure Wounds & Increase Patient Comfort with Air Fluidized Therapy

For decades, Air Fluidized Therapy (AFT) has been a reliable treatment option for patients with chronic and complex wounds. Utilizing advanced air fluidization technology, AFT ensures superior pressure redistribution and moisture control—critical factors in the treatment of stage III and IV pressure injuries. These therapeutic support surfaces not only expedite healing but also help prevent further skin breakdown, supporting faster recovery and enhancing the quality of life for patients with limited mobility.

The CLINITRON® RITE-HITE® and CLINITRON® AT-HOME beds are both clinically proven to minimize pressure sores, reduce friction and shear forces, and promote long-term care for bedbound and low mobility patients.

      Benefits of Air Fluidized Therapy

The Air Fluidized Therapy bed, commonly known as the “sand bed,” uses silicone-coated microspheres that resemble fine white sand. Warm air is circulated through these microspheres, creating a dynamic, fluid-like environment that gently supports the patient’s body. This fluid support reduces mechanical stress from friction and shear, which are significant contributors to pressure ulcer formation. Additionally, by controlling heat and humidity, varying airflow rates help prevent bacterial growth and accelerate wound healing.

      AFT-BED

Unlike traditional solid surfaces or standard air cushions, which only provide partial pressure relief, air fluidized beds distribute pressure evenly across the entire body. High risk areas like the shoulders, heels, and elbows are supported to prevent further tissue damage
