Reduce Pressure & Increase Patient Comfort with AFT

Air Fluidized Therapy (AFT) has been an effective solution for patients with complex and chronic wounds for decades. By using advanced air fluidization technology, AFT delivers excellent pressure redistribution and moisture management, two key factors for treating stage III and IV pressure injuries. These specialized beds not only enhance the healing process but also help prevent additional skin breakdown, supporting faster recovery and improved quality of life for patients with limited mobility or chronic conditions.

Both Clinitron® Rite-Hite® and Clinitron® At-Home have been clinically proven to minimize pressure sores, reduce friction and shear forces, and promote long-term wound care.

      Benefits of Air Fluidized Therapy

The Air Fluidized Therapy bed, sometimes called a “sand bed,” is filled with silicone-coated microspheres that resemble fine white sand. Warm air is pushed upward through these microspheres, creating a dynamic, fluid-like state. This fluid support provides full immersion and envelopment of the patient’s body. The fluid-like environment reduces the mechanical stresses caused by friction and shear, which are both major contributors to pressure ulcer formation. By regulating heat and humidity, variable temperature airflow rates inhibit bacteria growth and support healing.

      AFT-BED

Unlike traditional solid surfaces or air cushions, which only partially relieve pressure, air fluidized beds continuously distribute pressure across the entire body. These therapeutic support surfaces ensure that vulnerable areas, such as the shoulders, heels, and elbows, receive proper support, preventing further tissue damage.
